Power of prayer

Hi, everyone,

Good to hear from you. I like the blog Dave and all the photos.

Was disappointed not to have won the prize (!) but then I'm not likely to recognise Edinburgh as I've never been there!

Just wanted to ask for your prayers as we've got a week of prayer and fasting coming up next week and we're going to have lots of teaching especially on fasting. It'll be good to spend more time asking, seeking and knocking and praying that it will give us a greater hunger to know God more.

Miss you guys lots but glad that we can pray.

Summer is over....

hello pals!

So I have now moved back to Glasgow again and am living with two friends in a flat on Byrs Road!! It was hard saying goodbye to my mum but I am settling down quite well really. A couple of us from the CU here are trying to get street work started in a poor area of Glasgow called Maryhill where we had our halls of residence last year. It seems such a massive task at the minute but I just pray that God will help me use my time wisely as I seem to have so many commitments here. I also have big decisions to make as to what country I am going to move to next year as part of my language course. I really wanna use it to serve God but no idea how to start working out what he wants! I also am trying to get involved in some sort of church music because I had so much fun with you guys.
So yeah.. quite a daunting, confusing time is Uni so your prayers would be highly valued!
I hope your all looking after yourselfs and your people!
Keep posting, its really nice to hear from you guys
Clare McB!

sunday evening

Lovely to read some of your postings this evening, food for the soul.

Getting back into some sort of routine with kids activities started up and all the accompanying taxiing! Even my wee one has started football!

We are looking forward to welcoming a christian assistante in a fortnight. It seems that most years someone comes along. Zoe has already been in touch and we are really encouraged by that. We are praying for more young people to encourage those in the youth group.

Love to hear how you are getting on. HOw is the Scottish contingent? and the music?

Keep us informed. Prize for those who recognise where my three boys are!!

Love Alison

update

Hi all

Just wanted you to know that we had a great time with you all. Always amazed how the Lord manages to place us in families wherever we are in the world. After we finished the mission Dave and I stayed on in Besouges (nr.Chateau Gontier), did some sightseeing, went on a church picnic, had dinner with Christian and Catherine and visited some beautiful places. We had been praying about moving to France within the next 2/3 years (after Lucy finishes at uni) and think we may have found where - so if the church at Laval would like two emigres........... Anyway would appreciate prayer for this and if you feel the Holy Spirit saying anything about this matter, let us know.

Wanted to thank you all for what you have taught us. From each person we were made aware of your beauty in Christ: collectively we learned from you all patience, fun, humility, hospitality, creativity, forebearance, kindness, peace (in fact all the fruits of the Spirit) and a lot about Psalm 150!

Be great to keep in touch

Love

Carol and Dave

back home

Finally back home after a long round trip via motherwell, crieff, edinburgh, cardiff, london, ramsgate... It was great to see all our coworkers at the GLO Retreat and catch up on all that God is doing throughout Europe. Then we went to Edinburgh and stayed with Grant & Karen who kindly opened their home to the five of us. We had a great few days and Benjamin was able to see Napier Uni as he would like to study sports science and quite probably in Scotland. We were even able to catch up with friends we worked with in Marseille. Paul & Isobel were just back from their son's Scotts wedding ( which Sébastien went to).
I was able to travel down to Cardiff and spend a weekend with Alison's commending church Leckwith. Keith & Sheila really spoilt me during my stay with them. It was so good to meet up with friends that have faithfully supported us during our 22 years in France.
Next stop Ramsgate and a couple of days with my Mum who had a few jobs for me to do in the house. My nephew Denison and his Mum and stepdad came over for coffee. It was great to be able to speak to Denison and hear from him how he has been coping with such difficult circomstances. He has his own web page with "His story" on line to raise money for cancer research, it was very moving to read and we continue to pray for him.
Back to piles of post so I'll sign off now

Rrrruuuubbish in the bin !

Mortagne sur Perche

Hi, just thought you might like to know . . .

You remember at the Mortagne gig, Michaël the main guy from the church, invited the audience to a bbq to be held a week or two later ? Well, several people who came to the concert turned up at the bbq! Excellent ! Obviously Michaël was well chuffed, as they were people he'd met for the first time at the gig ! Wahey !! God is good :)

Videos & pics & posts

Hi everybody,

How's it going ? Are you managing to get the vids & pics on that you want ? Don't forget that you can use Youtube.com if you want to load a video on easilly, the only concession is that it has to be under 100 MB. Once it's on Youtube, which works quite quickly, you just have to copy the code which begins with "object....." or "embed....." and then paste the code into the text section of your Post :)

Apart from that, hope you're all doing okay. We're going to have an addition to the family soon ! A little HAMSTER !!! But don't tell Evelyne, it's her birthday present ;)

Monday, September 3, 2007

Hi, everyone,

Hope you are all well and have enjoyed the rest of the summer. I enjoyed time away in Teignmouth for a week and we had a childrens mission in Walsall at the end of August. I'm now getting ready to go back to school. It's amazing what a difference having two days a week off makes! There is a lot to look forward to in the coming months. Stuart Townend will be visiting us in October to do a concert so we are currently selling tickets which seem to be going very fast already!

I have tried to link a video clip onto the blog and have got as far as putting it on Youtube. If anyone knows what to do please could you explain to me simply :) Thanks.

Continue to look forward to your comments and updates.

Lots of love,

Sam

keep us up to date with your goings on

Hi everyone, back to earth with a bump after a few days in bonny Scotland. We were able to share with GLO how well the team had gone and what a wonderful lot you were.
I've left Mike in Britain doing some meetings so when the cat's away the mouse will play! Just kidding. Boys in the process of going back to school except Sébastien who has just started a temp job...praise the Lord.

The band all here

Thanks Chris, I can now start entering suff - what do say!- oh two of my pictures....
Hi Everyone,

We just got back from Britain and having a great time with family and friends. Here's a note from Gordon & June

Dear friends,

We enjoyed so much being part of the team! It was a great time of

service and fellowship. We had a very enjoyable few days in the London
area just after leaving Laval.

We moved house on Aug. 13! Our new address is: 36 Avonbridge Drive,

Hamilton ML3 7EJ (in fact, it is a return to the address where we used
to live and from which we had to move due to building work). Tel. no.
is unchanged.

God bless,

Gordon & June Leiper
